The Curse of an Endorsement
Yesterday, I endorsed David Oatney for the Knox County Commission in District 2, Seat A. Nearly 12 hours later, Oatney dropped out of the race.
Perhaps others who have sought by endorsement should take this as a warning?

I'll let it be on the record that I did not ask for your endorsement, but as I consider you not only a great Republican, but a personal friend (at least I hope you think so)-and I was happy to receive it.
I didn't drop out because I wanted to-I did so because I felt I had to. To be totally honest, I had a good talk with my wife, and she indicated to me that she wasn't yet ready, and that didn't really become apparent to her until she realized we had a legitimate shot to win.
I don't know about you, but I don't care what it is that I want, if everyone in the family isn't on board, it isn't worth doing.
Nicole has indicated that she is fully prepared to support a future run for office-I think she wants to get our business up and running first.
I appreciate your prayers and support.
