Clinton Makes Gay-Marriage Video for Elton John

Bill Clinton, Harold Ford, Jr.'s friend and campaign fundraising buddy, has created a video to be played at singer Elton John's gay wedding.

How can Ford continue to run as being against gay marriage when all of his out-of-state fundraising champions (Bill Clinton, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom) are apparently supporting gay marriage?

Comments:
I think Ford can run as someone who is opposed to gay marriage, because well...he is opposed to gay marriage and always has been.

I'm still trying to figure out why anyone would be opposed to gay marriage.

I don't think any branch of the Government should discriminate against any consenting adults when it comes to civil unions.

Elton has been with his partner David for 11 years. Seems to me they should have the same rights as a man and a woman who have been together and want to stay together forever. If I'm not mistaken, Cheney and Bush have said they favored civil unions for gay couples.

As far as Clinton sending a video to the newly legally bonded couple, I think it's great. I wish Elton and David and every couple in love all the best, but especially equality under the law.

I am hoping Ford is playing more closely to the right for strategy, and if he gets elected he'll be open to at least what this President and Vice President condone.

So much for honesty Sharon. Basically you're saying you hope Ford continues his charade until he's elected.

And what exactly what "rights" have Elton and David been denied?

Marriage can exist outside of government as it is for Elton and others, can it not? Why must you and others have it recognized as a legal institution by the government? Because you and others who perpetuate an assault against families in America want to redefine what a family is.

We still get to vote though, (and will in Tennessee) to reiterate that marriage is between a man and a woman.

And Elton is a pretty good example of how even gay couples emulate the male/female relationship. Elton chooses to identify himself as the female in the relationship, as evidenced by his Diva status, etc.
