Random thoughts
A few quick words about various subjects:
- I had the misfortune of watching "The Day After Tomorrow." I feel sorry for those who had to watch this at the theatres. Ghastly. Sure, I expected it to be a Leftist work meant to sully Americans everywhere (and it was), but it's ironic that a movie that exploits and trumpets science would have so many scientific flaws. Of course, why should the laws of thermodynamics and the irrational connection between climate and a tsunami-spawning earthquake get in the way of Hollywood's fun? Everyone associated with that movie should be banned from working on another film for a decade.
- What in the name of Harry Potter is going on here? I'm not that familiar with the enforcement of intellectual property rights in China, but this would not be tolerated in the West.
- More intolerance from the Liberal Left against anyone who doesn't agree with their views, this time in a school system near Long Island, New York. Apparently, the teacher's offenses that justified her firing were displaying a picture of President Bush and campaigning for the GOP on her own time. Of course, it is interesting in itself that the principal who did the firing is married to a Democratic New York State Assemblyman, Frank Seddio. I hate politics in the school systems, but it is the location of some of the worst, dirtiest form of politics in the country. And the NEA wonders why conservatives are abandoning the public schools more and more each year...
More to come later...
