Developer proposes to demolish Souter's home?
I am thinking that this is a hoax, but it is funny even if it is. According to this press release, developer/media mogul Logan Darrow Clements has filed a request with the Towne of Weare, New Hampshire, to seize Justice David Souter's home in order for a more profitable hotel to be built.
I wonder if Clements is interested in a whole line of "Lost Liberty Hotels?" Other possible building locales could be found in D.C. (Ginsberg), Illinois (Stephens), California (Kennedy and Breyer), and Memphis (Kelo-supporter Harold Ford, Jr.).

I don't like the Kelo decision any more than you. For that matter, I don't like Souter or the "Supreme Libs" any more than you, either. But don't you think targeting a person's property on the basis of who the owner is rather than the usage of the land amounts to harassment and discrimination? Also, wouldn't targeting a liberal judge for that reason ultimately turn him into a martyr and the thing of which heroic liberal legends (i.e. Alger Hiss or the Rosenbergs) are made?
Going after Souter's land could be embarrasing in the long run.
I don't like the Kelo decision any more than you. For that matter, I don't like Souter or the "Supreme Libs" any more than you, either. I don't know. It seems like justice for a conservative media elite to use the Supreme Libs' own weapon against them. Could it make Souter a martyr for the Left? Absolutely, but that is the chance we take any time that the Right decides to fight back. Is it harassment and/or discrimination? No more than when they come to take your land or my land. We say things on our blogs that I am sure local government or state government finds offensive. Now that they have this Kelo weapon, anyone exercising their 1st Amendment right of free speech is a target - whether from the bench or from the desktop.
