Today (July 3rd) is the last day to register to vote and still be eligible to cast your lot for the candidates of your choice on August 3rd.

I write this because it seems that those who are supposed to know such things may not be able to offer such advice. In particular, I asked a representative of the League of Women Voters when the deadline was at Thursday night's debate, and she was clueless as to what the heck I was talking about. After all, what would the League of Women Voters know about - voting.

(For the record, this was the same representative of the LWV who raised the ire of Terry Frank and other conservatives at the debate by asking a question that all but deified Al Gore. She sat right next to me, and her question was so green that I thought I was sitting next to Kermit the Frog for the rest of the night.)

You can print out a copy of the registration form here. The completed form can then be submitted to your County Election Commission today or postmarked today in order to meet the deadline for the August elections.

An idea: print out several copies and take them to family gatherings. Sign up as many people as you can, folks!
